Eurail

There are many different options for Eurail packages. What we pick will depend heavily on:
  • How long we are going to stay
  • How flexible we want to be with our travel
  • How many countries we want to visit

I agree with Dave that we should probably consider going with the "Saver" option on the Eurail packages, which allows two or more people who are traveling together to ride first class at a discounted rate. While the youth passes are cheaper, they are 2nd class and I'm not sure how comfortable that would be.

An explanation:

Eurailpass
Allows unlimited, consecutive days travel through the 17 member nations of the Eurail network. Can be purchased in 15 day, 21 day, 1 month, 2 month, and 3 month increments.

Eurailpass Flexi
Allows unlimited travel through the 17 membeer nations of the Eurail network like the Eurailpass. However, travel days do not have to be consecutive; they only have to be used in a 2 month period. Can be purchased with 10 travel days and with 15 travel days.

Eurail Selectpass
Allows unlimited travel through 3, 4, or 5 bordering countries in the 17 nation Eurail network. These passes can be purchased with 5, 6, 8, 10, and 15 travel days which, like the flexi pass, do not have to be consecutive but have to be used within a 2 month period.
