Fantasies of no school...

Yeah, so I've been thinking that all of these crazy ideas I've had about not taking classes next fall and just "working or something" are pretty much just fantasies. I guess I would like to try and tend a bar or something out of the ordinary like that, but I don't know how taking a semester off would effect my scholarships (kees?) or more importantly my motivation to finish my degree. That being said, I say we limit our trip dates from end of speed term to beginning of fall term. If worse comes to worse, we can miss like maybe the first week of class, b/c it's not hard to talk to professors ahead of time and let them know you won't be in class the first couple of days. They'd actually appreciate the fact that somebody is thinking about their class before it even starts. Anyways, going to Europe is a big deal, and we shouldn't let something as inferior as school work (or worse--class) get in the way of that.

Now that I've lost most of you people's attention, I'm going to talk about something of actual import. Dates should be set.

I think it would be better to go right after summer gets out, which would be that Saturday July 23, 2005.

This way we get some time back in louisville before the fall semester starts. As far as I know, three weeks has been the preferred duration of trip, which means we have exactly 3.5 days on either side of our journey between start and end of class (that is, if we center the trip during our break). Of course, we could take off a week or more after the summer term, and then not get back until sometime during the first week of fall term, but I don't know how that would affect morris (who should be starting med school that term?)

Anyways, we know that we should be leaving for Europe sometime between July 23 and August 6. That would put us arriving back in the United States between August 13 and August 27--a two week window of travelling.

Those are pretty solid dates as far as I'm concerned. Of course we'll have to look at things like what days are the best to travel (cheapest, least crowded, best arrival times etc) and also personal limitations, like, "I'd rather not leave that first weekend, but Monday is cool for me."

Mr. Yeiser, Give me some more statistics... Let's make another form that asks: % of confidence in going, which of the three weekends would you like to travel (7/23,24 to 8/13,14), (7/30,31 to 8/20,21), or (8/6,7 to 8/27,28), which cities (and/or regions?) out of the countries we've chosen would you like to go (i believe the countries will include England, France, Germany and Italy, possibly Spain too, I can't remember) limit the choices to 4 cities/regions b/c 20 days/4 cities = 5 days/city. Five days per city should be suitable.

It's starting to get late in the game (even some outsider agrees...who is that guy? I hate it when people comment anonymously) which means we need to quit worrying about all the possibilities and just start making decisions. Yeiser this form assignment is due by Friday November 19, 8:00 AM sharp.
